Ounces of Opportunity










Walking the trade show floor of my third conference in almost as many days, it occurred to me that the current security requirements for liquid items in carry-ons represents a great opportunity for a conference giveaway. Heaven knows most of us already have enough portfolios, paperweights, and luggage tags emblazoned with a sponsor logo. I could imagine:
  • An exhibitor giving away a packing kit to top prospects
  • A convention sponsor providing this to all attendees as a giveaway
  • A company or association provided it to top staff or volunteers coming to a specialty meeting
  • Hotels providing one at check-in to their most elite level frequent guests
I'm frankly surprised someone has turned something that is an annoyance to some into an opportunity to be of service while promoting themselves.
