During this time, I am committing to only a very limited number of engagements (typically 10 annually). Preference is given to invitations asking me to:
—Present a half-day, full-day, or longer facilitation skills training or leadership development workshop.
—Deliver a keynote/general session. Most frequently addressed topics include: personal authenticity, saying yes less, lifelong learning (ala my TEDx Talk), the core work of leadership, being a macro-manager, or innovation.
I no longer design and facilitate comprehensive strategic planning processes. My current strategy work involves collaborating with organizations to address either (1) their overall organizational culture or (2) a single specific strategic question/topic.

- Have we successfully collaborated in the past?
- Will your opportunity challenge me creatively or will I learn something new?
- Will I get to interact with fun people or other speakers I've been aching to meet?
- Are you asking me to think alongside (but not exclusively facilitate) you and your colleagues about an important strategic question?
- Is the event in a place I haven't visited before or somewhere I love? (Hint: Florida or Texas in the summer is not what I mean here)
- Does your event occur when my calendar is completely free?
- Can I do this work virtually (or primarily virtual)?
- Is this happening in Indianapolis?
- Are you scheduling pretty far in advance?
- Does your budget generally match my fee structure (see below)?
- Is it a writing or curriculum development project?
- Do you serve insanely great coffee or wine?
Your investment for my professional services
In general, workshop custom-design and presentation (outside Indianapolis) is $3500 for a half-day program and $5000 for a full-day session. That fee can drop a bit if the travel time involved is minimal. A keynote presentation plus follow-up breakout begins at $5000.
Travel costs are additional and your investment for my services may increase or decrease based on the total travel time required to get to/from your event location. Writing, curriculum design, and other project work fees vary based on scope of work.
Your best ROI in terms of pure dollars is a one-week residency which offers five consecutive days of unlimited speaking, consulting, project work, and facilitation for $12,000 plus travel.
And I will continue to do make a pro bono contribution to like-minded organizations, generally offering a reduced fee that better aligns with their budget.
